Well with more then 90″ of snowfall in the Ironwood area more in higher terrain we have plenty of snow. The bad news is our swamps and low areas are not frozen so we have a lot of wet areas so please use caution. Our forecast for the remaining of the the week temps will be in the 20’s during the day and in the teens at night. Hopefully this will help get those wet spots to firm up.

The Gogebic Range Trail Authority: Reports Trail 2 from Marenisco to Hurley is groomed along with trail 8 to Tula is groomed. It is still early season riding with a lot of wet spots.

The Lake Gogebic groomer’s report: Since it is still early season riding the groomers are out packing the trails and in some places they will be out with the drags. Trails 8 east, 8 west and 1 north will be in the best shape for riding with the driest conditions for the early season. All the other trails will be very wet. Some good news with all this snow Trail 13 south will be completely open for opening season. This trail is still very wet and groomers have not been able to pack this trail yet.

The Watersmeet groomer’s report: Groomers are out getting the trails ready for the season. They are reporting some wet spots in the lower areas so please use caution when riding. It is still early season riding.

Please remember groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, Please pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them.
