TRAIL REPORT….Sunday Jan 25th, 2015…

Weather…… overnight temps at 4f …up to 7f by 10:00am on the shores of Lake Superior….cooler inland…brought by overnight clear skys …
this upcoming week we will have temps daytime 20s… night teens… snow flurries and overcast skys….

Trails over the weekend where getting blown out soon after grooming…..all Groomers have seen upwards of 400 sledders in their runs….
Trails are still in the Excellent 80% in straight & open areas to Good at 20% in narrow & corner areas…..Snow is compactiing and drifts are hard packed even off trail…. sledders are running faster …Beware… stay on your own side of trail…. if you cant see around a corner slow down….the life you save may be your own…

NO hazards reported…. A few Complaints on blown out corners..Heavy/FAST traffic is to blame.. please ease off the throttles on DNR trails….ALL trails are groomed daily….Please stay off fresh grooming for atleast 1 hr….let it harden up for all to enjoy….there is always a 4′ area to drive on next to fresh groom…. and staying on your side of the 14ft. wide trails will increase inside of corners blowouts by 1/2 of their use.

Come up and enjoy….our AVG snow accumulation is 212′ …230′ last year….
