Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 02/16
A very cold 24 below this morning and it may get to 10 today. The next 4 days calls for lows in the 10 below range and the highs in the single digits. The wind is not blowing right now so that is some good news. Blowing and drifting was a big issue over the weekend in the open areas. We had a very good Radar run on Saturday with lots of brave souls enduring the cold to run. We have our Pancake Breakfast this weekend Feb 21, 830 am – 11 am at the clubhouse. please put it on your list to attend. See our Facebook or web page for more details. Trails overall are in excellent shape and groomers are out on a daily basis. If you are staying in the Sault please look at our list of supporters on our web page and give them your business. Please do that in all towns you visit. The grooming entities are all made up of volunteers who want you to support those who support us!!!!!! We now have a marked trail that will be groomed on occasion to get to parts and service at Chippewa Motors. it comes into the back of their lot from the east side of M-129 when you come out of the woods. Sault Ste. Marie to Brimley, Trail #8 – Base 4- 6 inches -Trail is in Excellent Condition. Watch for logging trucks the last 2 miles before Brimley, they are using the grade to haul, so a portion is plowed. Brimley to Raco, Trail #8 – Base 4 – 8 inches -Trail is in Excellent Condition. When going across the bridge in Brimley make sure you go with the flow of traffic! Blowing and drifting occurs when you first leave Brimley.
