Greenland Trail Report – Superior Snowmobile Club – 01/08
01-08-2016 I can’t believe we have not reported since Jan 1st. We are having way to much fun I guess. We do know we have been very busy in our area. Got our first snow Dec. 18-19 (27 inches) and conditions were good but everyone around us was not as fortunate so snowmobilers made use of whatever trails had enough snow to ride and added fun of fire roads and logging roads. Everyone would leave with a smile on their face and say they were glad they came. The little bit of freezing rain a couple weeks ago actually did us a favor as it settled the snow down, froze up at night and gave us a great base. The last couple weeks, the riding radius has grown to more miles. The last couple days we’ve added 5 inches of new snow and still snowing. Grooming has taken place every night since Dec. 19th, wherever snow on trail permitted. If snow too thin for grooming, the groomer stayed off to not pull dirt up and it was still snow covered enough for snowmobiles-same has been true with water areas. So here we are 01-08-16 with a great prediction for the next several days for much more snow. It has been snowing here all morning and as I look out-it’s still coming down. We had a situation with part of our trail #13 loop from Greenland to Twin Lakes, due to logging operation but that has been resolved for this year-thank goodness-it is such a beautiful trail and enjoyed by everyone that rides it. Just a reminder that Superior Snowmobile Club now has a website www.superiorsnowmobileclub.org and we hope you will check it out and pass on any suggestions. Also, we’d sure like for you to join our club at $25. per year. You’d be surprised how that $25. helps out with our expenses for fuel, maintenance and costly repairs. Memberships can be obtained thru our new website, or from Krupp’s Resort or Krupp’s Mini-Mart in Twin Lakes and Pat’s Yamaha/Polaris in Greenland. We would also like to remind everyone to watch our daily snowfall totals on our township website which is: www.elmrivertownship.com On the home page click “snowfall totals.” Enjoy your sport and “ride safe.” <> Visit Superior Snowmobile Clube Website >>>> <> Latest Trail Reports – Quick Links <>
