Indian River Trail Report – 02/29
The warmer weekend air felt good but it wreaked havoc on the trails. High temps caused a big melt off and left some open areas of the railroad grade bare. Once the temperature dropped the trails became very icy, which prevented us from grooming. Yesterday afternoon a cold front came in and dropped us down to 22 by evening. We’re currently at 30 but don’t expect to get over 32. We had some snow last night and awoke to between 1 & 2 inches of heavy stuff on the ground. We’re under a Winter Weather Advisory and the snow began falling about an hour ago. It’s coming down pretty hard right now and the advisory lasts until 5pm. Predictions are only for a couple inches but that may be low if it keeps coming down like it is. The snow is also very dense and moist. The focus of the advisory is more on the high winds and reduced visibility. Groomers are scheduled to run tonight, so by tomorrow morning I’ll have a better feel for specific trail condition. <> Visit Indian River Snowmobile Grooming Club Condition Report >>>> <> <> Visit Indian River Snowmobile Grooming Club Website >>>> <> Latest Trail Reports – Quick Links <>
