Indian River Trail Report – 03/01
The dense snowfall ended about noon yesterday, leaving us with between 2 and 3″ of new snow. After that heavy winds kicked up and drifted all the snow. Areas of the trails had snow blown off of them, revealing thick ice beneath. We were unable to run the grooming equipment last night because there isn’t enough snow over the ice base. That said, conditions on the wooded trails are decent. There is a thick base of ice and much of the trail has fresh snow over top. There are icy spots, especially in corners, so be careful out there. The railroad grade is trickier as far as consistent conditions. With spring weather on the horizon this upcoming weekend may be our last hurrah. We’re expecting temps in the 20’s through Friday and then the warm up begins. Expect conditions in the woods to hold longest when the melt-off begins. As for the next few days it’s still winter. So get out and ride while you can! I will let you know if the groomers are able to run Wednesday night. <> Visit Indian River Snowmobile Grooming Club Condition Report >>>> <> <> Visit Indian River Snowmobile Grooming Club Website >>>> <> Latest Trail Reports – Quick Links <>
