Lake Gogebic Trail Report – 03/03
March 3rd, 2016 Trails are in great shape with the groomers out on all trails each day this week. Today looks to be the last day with daytime temps low enough to daytime groom but nighttime temps should be cold enough through Saturday for grooming overnight. This will most likely be your last chance for some good riding this season so head on up for one more weekend. The forecast over the next 2 weeks shows daytime temps into the 40’s each day and only about 1 nighttime temp below freezing. You never know though – we could still get a blizzard between now and the end of March sometime, but I’d say it’s pretty certain that we’ll be done grooming after this weekend, if the forecast is correct. Keep checking back through the month and I’ll keep you posted if anything changes. The trails are officially open until March 31st so don’t completely count us out just yet. After all, we’ve had a snow storm that brought us about 2 feet of snow for Mother’s Day one year VERY IMPORTANT -We want to remind all to be sure to exit the lake at the Bergland Dock – DO NOT RIDE BEYOND THIS POINT. We think some of you may have mistaken the cell tower with its red flashing light in the distance as a spot to ride to – which will take you right to the dam. They may still be trucking logs out over a portion of Trail 102 and 13 South, so continue to watch out for logging trucks and always give them the right of way for your safety and for the privilege of riding on the logging company’s property. <> Lake Gogebic Area Chamber of Commerce – <> Lake Gogebic Area Chamber of Commerce on Facebook – <> Visit Lake Gogebic Website >>>> <> Latest Trail Reports – Quick Links <>
