Lake Gogebic Update – Root Cellar Resort and Restaurant – 12/29
All the customers today are smiling!! We’ve received about 4 to 5 inches so far. Ride safe! <> <> December 29th, 2016 We’ve got the cold and now we’re getting the snow! We are under a “lake effect snow warning” from noon today thru Friday morning. We may get up to an inch an hour (already have a couple of inches over the last couple of hours). Do keep in mind that visibility will be an issue so reduce speeds accordingly. There will also be strong winds creating blowing and drifting conditions. This will certainly help the condition of the trails. The groomers have been out cleaning up brush that came down with the high winds we had over this last weekend, but now they’ll have something to work with after this new snow. Even with the cold temps there continues to be wet areas on certain spots over most of the trails so keep an eye out for that, just don’t stop if you find yourself going thru one of these areas. That’s all for now, I’ll keep you updated as conditions change ** Also, please keep in mind that this is family vacation time so there will be a lot of young ones out on the trails as well.
