Munising Area Trail Report – 01/11
TRAIL REPORT 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, 1/11/17 GROOMING OPERATIONS: Trails 419E, Trail 8 West to Campground Road & Trail 7 from Christmas all the way down to CR440 were groomed yesterday. Working on grooming the new heavy snowfall into a nice trail system for the weekend. TRAIL CONDITIONS: Good. Building a good base. Still a few soft spots and hidden holes in the Trail 419 wet areas near Munising, use extreme caution riding. Trail 8 – Good its full length with a 6 to 7 inch base. WEATHER: 9 degrees, 9 mph WSW Winds, Snow starting again CAUTIONS, WARNINGS and UPDATES: CAUTION FOR TRAIL 419: CAUTION FOR TRAIL419 (Munising Wetmore Connector) – currently does not exist between the Alger County Road Commission and Wetmore. MDOT Approval has been received and the trail is in preparation progress so watch for workers and groomers in the area. Heavy Snowfall last night – trails are getting nice!
Trail 7 South – Good to Fair as you head South from Trail 8.
Trail 7 North – Good.
Trail 419W Munising-Christmas – Good. Still use caution due to a few soft spots closer to Munising.
Trail 422 Miners Castle – Good.
Trail 419E Wetmore-Munising – To be re-opened soon. Official opening will be announced.
