Lake Gogebic Area Groomers Report

Approximately 5-7 inches of new snow since last night and temps more in line with this time of the season have seen an improvement over much of our trail system. We do have more snow in the forecast over each of the next few days along with some significantly colder nighttime temps. Groomers are getting out over as much of our trail system as possible; however it will take time to bring the trails back to early January conditions. Please keep in mind that a lot of wet areas did reopen over the warm up we experienced and speeds should be kept slower to give you time to avoid these spots. In most cases you can ride around the wet spots.

Streams, rivers, and swampy areas are not safe at this time, please avoid.

U.P. Thunder Riders of Watersmeet Trail Report

Groomers went out last night and panned/flattened the trails and will continue as conditions permit. Conditions are fair to poor.

Trail 3 North is fair with a few wet spots

Trail 3 South to WI is fair/poor

Trail 2 is fair/poor with gravel areas and there are wet spots west of trail 13 south and further west by Barb Lake.

Trail 13 South is fair/poor there are two wet areas south of US Hwy 2 crossing one about 100 ft. long.

Hang in there. Please stay on marked trails. Riding on unmarked trails can result in the club losing easement for that trail and can possibly get yourself a ticket.
