Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 01/31
January 31, 2017 23 degrees this morning and partly cloudy. No new snow last night. Last day of January…..good riddance….the local weather guesser said the temps for this month was 6-10 higher than normal. The wind is supposed to switch and come outa the NW tomorrow and the weather guessers are saying that will kick up some good lake effect for Wed. night and Thurs. They are saying 3-6 inches thru Thurs. night. Lets hope they are right!! Now, on to the trails….. Groomer Don ran the Point trails yesterday and called them good. Groomer Dave did go south on trail #8 but by-passed the swamp. He told me the power line south of the river has a couple nasty holes in it. You can get around them though but be careful. There is also a big hole in the federal forest section. This is the section between the Silver Creek Tavern and Lakeshore drive. Its a tough one to get around cause the trail is so narrow in there. My point here is lets use some common sense when coming to a water hole. Don`t go busting through it not knowing how deep it is, then getting stuck in it and then complaining. We don`t carry a magic wand in the groomer to freeze in holes!!! We can`t do nuttin about it with this past warm weather and no snow to use to fill it!!! Common sense folks…..common sense. Well, thats what I got fer ya`s today. Lets hope the weather guessers are right about the snow coming. The temps look like they are gonna cooperate so all we need is a foot of snow. LET ER SNOW!!!!!
