Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 03/02
March 2, 2017 10 degrees this morning and partly cloudy. Yesterday was quite a windy day and we did get around 3 inches or so. Every time I look at the weather forecast it changes but ‘they’ are still saying its gonna stay cold until Sunday and we may pick up a couple inches from now till then. Groomer Don did decide to run the Point trails yesterday just to keep up on the drifting. I am runnin to the Falls tonight and Groomer Mike is gonna head to Pine Stump. I am seeing alot of questions asking about trail #8 going south on our FB page….here`s my answer. The swamp south of town is under water and the gates are closed. It may be froze now cause of the temps the last couple nights but if we take a groomer thru there it would break right back up. The power line south of the river has a couple big wet areas open with flowing water, we just can`t get a groomer thru there either. The Federal Forest section (between the Silver Creek and Lakeshore Dr.) is mud. You can get a sled thru all of this but it won`t be alot of fun and possibly no fun at all. Old Man Winter has not been good to us this season with the thawing he`s thrown at us so we just can`t do anything about this section of trail. Its too low and wet and we are done grooming it for the season. You can still get south if you ride on the UNPLOWED portion of M-123. As I have said in the past, we cannot groom this cause we don`t have a permit to do so, plain and simple. All our other trails are good to go so come on UP for maybe one last fling. All I gots fer today.
