Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 03/06
It’s 42 and drizzly out at about noon on Monday in Frederic. Snow is pretty mushy but there are two sleds over at the swamp right now. They were in here a bit ago and said they had rode here from Starvation Lake. Only time will tell if we will get enough snow for one more ride. Right now I think we are done again until then. I took a first timer out for a ride yesterday. He has been a long time friend and we did a nice little 30 mile ride around Frederic and up to the Keg in waters for lunch. Corey puts out a pretty big burger there. We came across a sled that had the a arm and ski pushed all the way back on it setting along old 27. I stopped and looked at it and was wondering what it had hit as I couldn’t see anything around it and then the light went off in my head. I walked over to the tracks and could see exactly what happened. He was riding down the side of the tracks and the a arm caught on a railroad tie, did a complete flip and landed upright on the tail light and then they ended up in the middle of the tracks. This all goes back to STAY AWAY FROM THE RAILROAD TRACKS. Enough said on that. I will go back to every couple days updates until something comes up good in the snow department. Thank you to the many people that stopped in this past winter….Its always fun seeing familiar faces and a bunch of new ones too……Thanks for checking in.
