Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 12/26
Well Santa did manage to get us about 4 to 6 inches of new snow here in Frederic over Christmas., news reports had Petsoskey getting 20 inches over the weekend. As usual North and west of Frederic there seems to be more snow. Pretty quiet in grayling this morning, 3 trailers at the Ramada and 2 at the days inn. I got here early this morning and have been plowing. Already got stuck down at the storage units and a guy was in to drop his trailer off. They were returning from the u.p. where they rode by newberry and paradise and said it was pretty good but still water on some of the trails. It was minus 4 here this morning so that is good. My truck sat in my drive from sunday afternoon till this morn and I didn’t even have to broom it off as we only had about 1 new inch there. It all seemed north of grayling. Still mostly a lake effect snow but it sure looks good. I checked out trail crossings this morning and no signs of any groomer activity. As I got here this morning 2 sleds pulled up and I talked to them. I know this guy and he is a true die hard. You will find this one hard to believe but he and his wife have already logged over 2000 miles this month. Yes you read that right, two thousand miles, actually he said closer to 2100. He does the same thing in the summer with his 3 wheeler spyder. I see them all the time early in the mornings. Its amazing how much he does. He told me this morning when he die it cant be said he had those toys to look at in the garage. Now for those of us that just want to get in the first hundred miles that time is getting closer. So pics below are from this morning except for the 9 sleds that were at the swamp when I left sunday afternoon. Thanks for checking in.
