Grayling Trail Report – Fay’s Motel – 12/26
Greetings Sledders, We got about 2-3" of Lake Effect yesterday. It’s never the type of snow that we would druther, but it’s certainly better than no snow at all. Some of this did fall on trail #7 South of M-72 and East of M-93 near Camp Grayling ( a.k.a. Hanson Hills ) where it was needed the most. This wasn’t enough snow however to upgrade the trail conditions past fair. This trail status was arrived at through much deliberation with the trail conditions board of regents and their word is final. Fair it is. I’m also going to stick with the "poor" label for the previously mentioned Southern trail because as traffic increases it won’t take long for that new snow to get blown off or beat down. We are grooming and will continue to do so until we get tired or the traffic lightens up, whichever comes first. Or until stuff starts breaking in this sub zero weather. Or until the fuel filters gel up. Or until something really good comes on TV. There isn’t much snow in the forecast and the temps won’t clear the teens in the foreseeable future so layer up. It’s early season riding and we’ve all seen worse.
