Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/10
January 10, 2018 Sorry for the late report this morning but I slept in. I deserve that every now and again, right? Sooo…..30 degrees this morning, cloudy and windy. The weather guessers are saying highs close to 40 today and above freezing tonight. This is gonna hurt our trails just as we are getting them in shape. The good news is by Friday the temps are gonna drop like a rock and it looks like alot of snow coming…..we`ll see. Just a couple things went on yesterday so here we go….. Groomers Mike and Larry ran the Pine Stump Trail #8. Talked to Mike this morning and he rated it at good. The burn area (siberia) was drifted, of course, but they got`er smoothed out. With this wind today its probably drifted up again. The loggers on the west side of this trail by Crisp Point to Little Lake are outa there, so this will help this section. The loggers on the east side are still at it. It sounds like another week or two for them. That section is ridable. I know I`ll hear from the whinners about that last sentence about cooling and lubrication but it is ridable….just take it easy. Groomer Don ran the Point Trails again and he stopped by on his way home yesterday and told me he would rate it excellent. There`s two of them excellents now!! We are gonna stay outa the swamp south of town until it cools off so I doubt it will be open for the weekend. We are trying to find somebody to run the rest of this trail today or tomorrow but just skip the swamp section. The Falls Trail #45 remains excellent. Lets all hope it doesn`t get to crazy warm the next couple days!!!
