Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/17
February 17, 2018 15 degrees this morning and cloudy. No new snow last night. While I`m on the subject of weather lets take a look. The weather guessers are all over the map on whats gonna happen the next few days. Some say temps around 30 and snow and some say temps around 40 and rain. Your guess is as good as theirs……..I guess. We`ll see what happens. Here`s what went on as far as the trails yesterday….. The only trail we hit was the South trail #8. Groomer Dave M. ran it and called it fair. The swamp south of town had a couple of small holes open up. He got them filled in but he told me to remind you all to slow down in there. If this weather warms up we will start having problems in there. Today we are runnin the Pine Stump trail #8 and the Falls trail #45 plus the Point Trails #452 and #453. Now on to my new feature…..but I think its gonna get the axe in a couple days. LOL Groomer Chris` broke down grooming machine show….and here we go…. I saw quite a few suggestions on checking our fuel supply….been there done that. All our fuel is treated. It is not the problem. I do want to clarify something. Our brand new machine IS running good. The problem with it is all the computer crap. Its throwing codes and screaming alarms at us. The yellow alarms just scream but a red alarm will lock the brake and stop the machine INSTANTLY and that throws us into the wind shield!!! NOT COOL!!!! The mechanics from the company worked on it all night Thursday and all day Friday and did find a problem that could be causing this. They actually went back to Canada yesterday morning to chase parts and came back and fixed it (hopefully), but they are confident. It is out right now on the Stump trail. Cross your fingers!!! Our 2012 is behaving fine now. Groomer Kevin ran it Thursday night and Groomer Dave M. ran it all day Friday without any issues. It is out right now on the Point trails and I`m taking it to the Falls tonight. We don`t really know what went on with this machine a couple days ago. We changed ALL filters and went through ALL the wiring looking for a short or something but never really found anything….me thinks its a groomer gremlin….LOL Our oldest machine is tore apart and ready for the new injector pump. The part won`t be here till the end of next week but we are ready. We have had ALOT of help the past few days. I want to put out a special shout out to Ed Sabo. He wrenched all day yesterday. He lives in NC but has a place UP here. Another shout out to husband and wife team Glen and Sherri, sorry, forgot your last name. They have been out to the barn the last few days rebuilding a track. This is a VERY tough job. They come from down state but have a place UP here too. THANK YOU…..THANK YOU……THANK YOU!!!! Thats it for todays show.
