Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 03/29
Jay just checked in today with this report! Huge thank you to Jay, who has been riding with his family and taking the time to provide us with reports and photos for the last three days! This is Jay’s update! I have received reports from several other groups riding in the area simply saying the trails are good! I hope a lot of you will get to take advantage of these great spring riding conditions! <> This is the Keweenaw Snowmobile Trail System Report for Thursday, March 29, 2018. Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open and in Fair to good, end of season condition. Trails on the south end are showing end of season wear and their groomers have been pulled off the trails. The trails on the north end are still in pretty good shape. Groomers are out. Trail 133 is now closed for the rest of the season, due to logging. Please respect this closure and stay off the trail. There is still plenty of good riding on the rest of the Keweenaw Snowmobile Clubs trail system. You can still get in and out of Gay via trail 122/124. Remember when you’re out on the trails to watch out for the groomers. They have the right away. The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, drive safely. The signs on the trail are there for riders’ safety so please DO Not remove or destroy them. Snowfall & Weather: Today’s forecast Partly cloudy, high 28, low 17 <> Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau Website >>>> <> <> Latest Trail Reports – Quick Links <>
We staged out of The Trailside Lodge today because the parking lot at Vansville was muddy. The groomer got out and did his thing! Mohawk to Copper mostly flat and hard. A few bumpy corners still before Brockway and very few bare spots. Survived the warmup very well and should make good weekend riding! Low traffic today as of 1:30 as we sit at lunch in Copper Harbor, Michigan. Only saw 4 sleds on the trail but about 15 were unloading at Vansville Bar!
