Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 01/22
Finally it looks like winter is coming at us. Weather forcast for next 7 days shows snow everyday. That’s what we want to see. Some of it is lake effect and some of it is a clipper. Take what we can get. Temps today are a lot warmer with it being 18 degrees right now at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. I like it. Never saw a sled yesterday but still had a few stop in on their way back from the u.p. I wonder how the guys from Texas did that headed up to Rudyard yesterday as it was minus 46 up there on Monday. With the cold we have had that may make it good enough for their to be an ice bridge to both Mackinaw Island and Bois Blanc. I think that will make the islanders happy so they can get supplies easier. Still not a ride that I would not recommend without an islander as a guide. I was thinking about going to the u.p. today for a ride but am not going to leave because of the weather prediction. Maybe I can ride home from here in the next couple of days. Hopefully tommorows update will finally say we have some new snow. The Darkside Adventures guys started off a little rough as they were delayed by road closures from to much snow. They are on the trail now and making tracks so that is good. Follow them along at http://www.darksideadventures.com Also just learned of another death that happened in Kalkaska county out off Military road. That puts it up to 9 deaths. Please Ride Safely and think of these 9 senseless deaths when you squeeze the throttle more than you should. Thanks for checking in.
