GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. Was happy to hear Groomer Will made it off the trail ok. Here’s his report: Ran North Tuesday night, 8, 888 and 88. Trails themselves were not to bad, real narrow and easy to groom, so much snow to work with. 12 hours and 12 trees across the trail and all is well. There is one tree left about 4 miles south of H 58. I broke my saw and it was way too big to push so I built a temporary snow road over it. There is a confidence marker on one side and a wet area sign on the other as that’s all I had in the groomer for some kind of reflective warning. We will get it cut out as soon as possible. Be safe and enjoy. Groomer Will <> We have a groomer heading out to 443 with 2 guys and extra chainsaws determined to get it done. The groomer originally on that trail this morning had to turn back due to more saw issues. Please be watching for them!! <> Will is out on the north trail right now so be aware. This is what he just sent me. “Tree 2 in less than a half mile, gonna be a long day! North, started at 4 am not even 5 miles from town yet, woodland park took 2 hours, I will send full report when I get in.
