Ironwood Trail Report – Gogebic Range Trail Authority – 03/18
We groomed several hundred miles this past weekend, all of our system was groomed at least twice including 160 & 11S. THERE REMAINS WAIST DEEP SNOW AND A BASE OF 12-30" OF SNOW ON THE TRAILS. Water holes are back and here to stay, while there are only a few hazards like this on our trails, many are around the Wakefield area, especially near trail 2/8 intersection. Later this week the trail between Bessemer & Wakefield will get really tough, the county has removed the ditch trail to allow for proper drainage pushing riders to a complete road-route trail. We suggest trailering and ride out of Wakefield to access our eastern system. Trails were in beautiful shape this weekend and we saw many riders enjoying them, THANK YOU! There will be tons of snow in the woods for a very long time. March may run its course warm, but April could be a very different story.
