Ironwood Trail Report – 02/26
IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club – 2/26 Groomers were out over night working hard! Club President Steve spent 7 hours grooming between Highway 2 and Sunday Lake in Wakefield. Much snow was spread around and corners flattened. Mike S of U.P. Engraving, LLC groomed 11S. No sleds were seen during the runs. Trails are in VERY GOOD condition with a short 2 mile section near Wakefield as "Fair" due to snirty snow. Even if we get no new snow before the weekend trails will still be in great shape! We continue to work on road routes grooming banks down to keep sleds off (and from damaging) pavement. <> 2/25 Our main corridors were groomed last night thanks to the grooming machines Dan & Charlie! Overall conditions are rated as very good with some short sections fair. These sections are 2 miles of trail from Indianhead to Wakefield and other small short areas. Trails have a deeply packed base and with 4-6" forecast for this week trails this weekend will be fast and smooth. Winter is not over!! Long Live Winter! PS: No road in the U.P. is as white and smooth as a snowmobile trail, which means it is NOT a road. This driver quickly found we have 30" of snow on the ground yet. <> Report via Gogebic Range Trail Authority Website <> Report via Gogebic Range Trail Authority on Facebook <> This message is only visible to site admins <> Visit Gogebic Range Trail Authority Website >>>> <> Latest Trail Reports – Quick Links <>Postings From Regional Pages On Facebook
