Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 12/29
It’s a start, we had about 3 inches of new lake effect snow here in frederic overnight, its a nice cold 20 degrees out right now but the sun is way brighter than I would like to see.
The weatherman says to expect another 6 overnight to night.
I had to run to Gaylord last night and I probably saw 30 sleds on the trail along old 27 with about a dozen sleds parked at the Keg in Waters, and I did see a few sleds thru town here yesterday too. People just want to ride and I guess a ride on bad trails is better than no ride at all.
I even checked the motels in Grayling this morning again and the count was way up with 1 trailer at the Days Inn and 2 trailers at the Ramada……Also the forcast has lost the prediction of rain in it too so that may be promising……The pic below I just took out the front door here. I see a sled circled the building this morning already before I got here.
Also the death count is up to two now. Remember to ride safely, it only takes a second to die.
FROM Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> I need to post this image again because WOW. I can't recall the last time nearly all of the United States was forecast to be below average. Before anyone gets on the "SEE CLIMATE CHANGE IS FAKE" train... one of these below average maps DOES NOT negate the other 500 above average ones. Trends, folks. Trends. Nothing is a straight line. The warming temperature trend line is full of peaks and valleys with an overall increasing trend. 🙂 #miweather #keweenaw#westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#petoskey#gaylord#cadillac#traversecityI need to post this image again because WOW. After Thanksgiving, a large portion of the U.S. will likely see below normal temperatures into early December. And of course, there's southern Florida. 🌞
