KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 01/02 The hard fast truth is….. there is really no measurable snow in the forecast and the temps are hovering over freezing for periods of the day 😩 <> KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western & Southern UP Trail Reports – 01/01 TRAIL REPORT NORTH OF HOUGHTON Trail 124 remains closed for logging. Trails are still holding up pretty good. Granted some spots thin/bare with this new snow over night helped for sure. Trail 3 is the ONLY trail you can ride a sled on from April 1st on, the others close down. The water is open and the bridge is closed so you have to trailer across the Houghton Lift Bridge. agreed that the area is in need of more snow. Adam felt that the trails are in fair condition overall (due to lack of snow) and poor in certain areas such as a good part of The Eagle’s Loop- Trail 130, the first 3 miles towards Copper Harbor after going to the left on Trail 3 at the “y” of 3/134 and about the last 3 miles on the way out to High Rock Bay that he felt were in poor shape due to simply not having enough snow. Most riders we talked to agreed with this review.
A reminder of the water hole that was filled in on the way out to High Rock still has dirt exposed (shown in photo) so please ride this area along with all trails, of course with caution⚠️ AND get those snow dance games stepped up a notch!
Once again a huge thank you to all the amazing Groomer Operators, doing all that is possible with the limited amount of snow! We are all SO appreciative of your hard work! …

First of all, Happy New Year to all! Sorry for no update yesterday, groomers were out in full force all day!
Trail 3 from Mohawk to Clear Lake is in decent early season shape. TRAIL 3 IS OPEN FROM CLEAR LAKE JUNCTION OVER BROCKWAY MOUNTAIN! Gates are open but conditions are thin.
Trail 122 to Gay is thin to fair, with some water hazards operators are working to repair.
Trail 130 to Eagle River/Eagle Harbor was groomed for the first time yesterday, conditions were fair with a good amount of snow in the higher elevations, but thinning near the lakeshore.
Trail 132 East/West to Lac La Belle are in good early season conditions.
Trail 17 from Mohawk to Hancock is in fair early season condition, with thinner spots between Kearsarge and Mohawk.
All trails are still in early season shape and bumpy in spots due to high traffic. Ride Carefully and enjoy!
Also for those not familiar with the regulations, ANY WHEELED VEHICLES ARE PROHIBITED ON TRAIL. We have had two incidents of cars on our trails already this year!

Well the end of season is finally here and I hope everyone got to put lots of miles on. I want to personally thank all of those who follow our page and trust my Reports. A special thanks to all that came out and showed your support and purchased some swag this year. The proceeds are going to take some of the groomers and a guest out for dinner this week. A special thanks to Val and Jerry for hosting the dinner at The Pit Stop Bar & Grill in Greenland.
I will continue to post during the off season so you all can see the beauty of the UP during the other 3 sessons.
