Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/18
January 18, 2021 Not much snow on the ground now. Here at my place we have about 4-5 inches…..pretty sad for the middle of January. I can see grass in my yard in spots!!! I should be saying feet instead of inches!!! I have seen some pics and videos out by Pine Stump of people riding and it don`t look too bad, apparently they have a touch more snow out that way. So much for the weather report, here`s what we`ve been up to…….. Last Saturday we took 2 groomers south of town to check out the Federal Forest section of trail #8. We can`t get in there with trucks or quads so we took 2 machines with 4 guys just to see what trees were down. It wasn`t too bad as far as trees and water and we made it thru and we left the gates open. Its not the greatest as far as snow cover but you can get thru on sleds. The only section we have not covered is the swamp south of town. We just don`t want to go in there until we have sufficient snow to fill in the water holes. Well……thats the best I can do for an update for ya`s. We are all MORE than ready to start this season. If we could get a foot of snow we could get going. Do your best snow dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 25 degrees this morning and partly cloudy. The last couple of mornings have been in the 20`s, so thats good. The weather guessers are calling for some snow every day for the next week, not much but at least some, maybe a total of around 6-8 inches. Being in a snow belt I`m praying we will get hammered…….it could happen!
