Traverse City Trail Report – 01/23
TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Snowmobile Club – 01/23 Here are some pictures from the trail yesterday from my snowmobile and last night from the groomers. Groomers are running a full schedule and the trails are shaping up nicely. Yes we could use some more snow but trails are totally rideable. There are a few corners that are still showing dirt but overall the trails are decent. Get out of the house this weekend! Please use caution as I’m sure there will be some traffic on the trails. STAY RIGHT!!! Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat. Does anyone have any information that would explain why Antrim County was excluded from the the governor’s State of Emergency?
