Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 03/08

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 03/08

It was amazing how many “first time to the area” riders we had riding Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula this weekend! I have really loved hearing their stories and the excitement about their trips! I think the Keweenaw stole some more hearts!

Cortni Stuttgen and Andy Springer are “seasoned” riders to the Keweenaw during all seasons of the year. Whether it be by snowmobile or sXs Cortni said “Year and year again the Keweenaw never disappoints. It’s where nature around you feels right and welcoming. Early spring riding conditions throughout the weekend but not one single bare spot nor what we call "snirt". Groomers did an awesome job working the trails. There is still plenty of snow off trail to play in the white gold too. With a warm up in the future forecast we are crossing our fingers for another rip or 2 before the season ends. #thatkeweenawfeeling #thankagroomer”
Cortni & Andy were actually able to verbally #thankagroomer as she hash tagged! They spoke with ScottApril Heikkinen while they were stopped for a break, while out grooming trails!

Thanks so much for sharing your photos and review of the area! I always enjoy seeing you both and am sorry our paths did nothing cross this past weekend! Here’s to seeing you on your next trip up!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western & Southern UP Trail Reports – 03/04

Just a quick video of Keweenaw running 2 machines from Mohawk to Toivola. We figured it needed a double team to get back in shape. Now just keeping it flat is a challenge in its own.

FROM Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> I need to post this image again because WOW. I can't recall the last time nearly all of the United States was forecast to be below average.
Before anyone gets on the "SEE CLIMATE CHANGE IS FAKE" train... one of these below average maps DOES NOT negate the other 500 above average ones. Trends, folks. Trends. Nothing is a straight line. The warming temperature trend line is full of peaks and valleys with an overall increasing trend. 🙂 #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea #petoskey #gaylord #cadillac #traversecityI need to post this image again because WOW.
