FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 12/08
Coming at you from downtown Frederic this morning at Sledheads, my wireless is hooked back up and working so I can update from here. No new snow since yesterday, I would say we had close to 2 feet total this week, I have plowed so much I am already sick of it. Trails are still great but will get worn as more riders show up.
The pic below I took at the swamp yesterday as they were all lined up there about 5 when I left here. Weather forcast is not great but unless we get a heavy rain I think it will hold most of the weekend. There are predictions of snow/rain mix for saturday so thats not good…..I hope this isnt a teaser and we end up losing what we have. The mountains of snow that are out there are bigger than we have seen here in many years….I think I am going to put my closed gone riding sign up and head out for a ride myself today. Thanks for checking in. Pete
FROM Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> I need to post this image again because WOW. I can't recall the last time nearly all of the United States was forecast to be below average. Before anyone gets on the "SEE CLIMATE CHANGE IS FAKE" train... one of these below average maps DOES NOT negate the other 500 above average ones. Trends, folks. Trends. Nothing is a straight line. The warming temperature trend line is full of peaks and valleys with an overall increasing trend. 🙂 #miweather #keweenaw#westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#petoskey#gaylord#cadillac#traversecityI need to post this image again because WOW. After Thanksgiving, a large portion of the U.S. will likely see below normal temperatures into early December. And of course, there's southern Florida. 🌞
