Cadillac / Baldwin Area Trail Report – Wolf Lake Motel and Resort – 02/09
Hi All. What’s that in the sky? Is it a bird? Is it a Plane? Is it Superman? No it’s SNOW! It’s snowing now and they are forecasting 3" to 8" today, with some more tomorrow and a little LES the rest of the week and another system snow on Saturday and Sunday. YES!!!!!!!!! These are the latest grooming dates that I have, Baldwin groomed south and north routes 2-5-10 and the grade to Reed City on 2-6-10. Irons was out on 2-4-10 and finished on 2-5-10. Cadillac 2-7-10 and 2-8-10. Benzie/Manistee 2-6-10 and were scheduled to go out again 2-8-10. Wellston I don’t have an official word as of yet, but our guest this last weekend said they were nice. The best part is that we are in the middle of all these grooming clubs, so if one isn’t grooming, one of the other clubs are grooming. I’m quite sure the groomers will be out again as this new snow falls, but usually they like to let it fall first to get it packed down. Most trails were still in good to fair shape without the new snow, except trail 344 and the short section of trail 3 just south of Low Bridge, but more snow is always good, right? We still have a couple rooms and snowmobiles available for this weekend, so call soon, because once the snow hits, you won’t be able to get a room. Call 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm. We are running a Bed and Sled Special. Get a modern well maintained single passenger Snowmobile from 10am until 6pm and one of our small single Motel Rooms, Sunday through Thursday for $230, helmet and tax included or get a modern well maintained two passenger Snowmobile from 10am until 6pm and one of our small single Motel Rooms, Sunday through Thursday for $260, helmet and tax included. Weather permitting. Also stay two days and get the third free, Sunday through Thursday. No Fridays and Saturdays. You must mention at the time of the reservation and of course this special is dependent on availability and can not be combined with any other offer. Plus we are in the middle of one of the largest ORV trail systems in the state, so if the snow isn’t that great for snowmobiling, bring your ORV up and ride over 200 miles of ORV trails. PLEASE DON’T RIDE YOUR ORV ON THE GROOMED SNOWMOBILE TRAILS. There are plenty of open trails available for ORV riding. Don’t worry winter isn’t over for snowmobiling, but a winter ORV ride can be a blast too. If you don’t have a snowmobile or yours is broken, no problem, WE HAVE ON-SITE SNOWMOBILE RENTALS right here at the Resort. There is good snow in the woods, so two tracken and seasonal roads are a blast right now. (Which there are tons of). 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm Rooms and ON-SITE Snowmobile Rentals are available. We are members of the Cycle Conservation Club of Michigan, Baldwin Trailriders Snowmobile Club, Benzie/Manistee Snowbirds Snowmobile Club, Irons Area Tourist Association Snowmobile Club, Wellston Area Recreation and Tourist Bureau Snowmobile Club, Lake County ORV Club and the Michigan Snowmobile Association, which are the local grooming clubs. I can not thank these guys and gals enough, they do a lot of work for free, so we all can enjoy this sport. I would only think that if someone is complaining about a bumpy trail on Saturday afternoon, come to a couple club meetings and see just what these people do. They would never complain again. Thank you again. Call 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm. See ya soon on the trails.
