KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports…. Trails are considered to be in very early season condition and sledders should be riding with extreme caution. There are exposed rocks, bare spots, wet areas and downed trees still in some areas. Power outages caused be the ice storm continue over portions of south-central Upper Michigan and may last through the night. Trails are still holding up pretty good. Granted some spots thin/bare with this new snow over night helped for sure. Trail 3 is the ONLY trail you can ride a sled on from April 1st on, the others close down. The water is open and the bridge is closed so you have to trailer across the Houghton Lift Bridge. Heavy snow and a wintry mix moves back in, persisting through Sunday before a change over mainly to light snow Sunday night. The heaviest snowfall will be across the western UP, Keweenaw, and the higher terrain of the north-central UP. Well the end of season is finally here and I hope everyone got to put lots of miles on. I want to personally thank all of those who follow our page and trust my Reports. A special thanks to all that came out and showed your support and purchased some swag this year. The proceeds are going to take some of the groomers and a guest out for dinner this week. A special thanks to Val and Jerry for hosting the dinner at The Pit Stop Bar & Grill in Greenland.
I will continue to post during the off season so you all can see the beauty of the UP during the other 3 sessons.
