KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports…. Adam shared these photos and comments today about his ride, “What a difference a day can make! Lots of fresh snow over the last day and a half, the Eagles Loop – Trail 130 (previously closed to loggingand just opened back up today) and the Lac La Belle loop – Trail 132 were freshly groomed and setting up nice! It is still thin on the spurs in and out of Eagle River and Eagle Harbor, but the loop is shaping up good. Trail 132 west has a few water puddles yet, very minimal, Trail 133 was easy sailing from Lac La Belle to Gay, it has a decent amount of snow on it now. There were some bigger water holes but all were easily passable. It looked like two other sleds had been down the trail before me. Trail 124 was good, Brockway from the west has snow on the trail now(was previously VERY thin to bare in spots) Trail 3, north of Mohawk, even through the stretch where there was previously logging is shaping up good. The first polar front will sweep through the Midwest on Thanksgiving day bringing temperatures 10 to 15 degrees below average. Lows below zero are expected for some across the north and in the single digits down to I80. Highs this weekend will only be in the single digits and teens for areas down to I80. Dangerous wind chills of -20 degrees or colder are increasingly likely, especially north of I90. The graphic below shows the temperatures on Sunday morning.
Another polar front will move through next week bringing even colder temperatures.
