TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Ranch Rudolf – 1/9 Just wanted to be sure you saw our update that groomers did not go out last night as there just isn’t enough snow to work with. Although the things are mostly snow covered when looking out the window, trails are down to dirt in many spots are are considered to be in poor condition. Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat.
