FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 1/23 Saturday it snowed all day, gave us about 4 to 6 inches of new fluffy snow which made things alot better. I think Frederic had a little more snow than in Grayling as I only had about 2 inches at home. Still made the first decent weekend of riding. Lots of people having a good time. We still need some good system snow to help with the base but we have to start somewhere. For those of you that have been on here for years you have heard me talk of the Darkside Adventures ride. Typically they do a ten day ride thru the wilderness of Quebec or elsewhere in Canada. This year they are starting out in New Hampshire and heading up into Maine. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat. Does anyone have any information that would explain why Antrim County was excluded from the the governor’s State of Emergency?
