Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/25
January 25, 2022 4 degrees this morning and snowing. We didn`t get the 3-6 "they" were calling for yesterday and last night but I do have a fresh 2-3 on my deck this morning. Hey, its all good, we`ll take it, and it looks like this weather pattern will stick around for a while! Really nothing new to report on the trails. All the groomer drivers are saying the same thing….all trails are very good to excellent!!!! The only exception is the north side of trail #452. The trees are really thick thru there and it seems like they are holding all the snow from hittin the ground. Its a short 3-4 mile stretch thats a little rough and thin with snow. This weekend is gonna be FANTASTIC! If your thinking about coming UP….just do it! You won`t find better conditions! Bout all I got to say! Snow totals ranged from little to nothing along the Superior shoreline due to the warm lake temperatures, to 2 feet plus in the higher terrain of Marquette and Baraga Counties. The first polar front will sweep through the Midwest on Thanksgiving day bringing temperatures 10 to 15 degrees below average. Lows below zero are expected for some across the north and in the single digits down to I80. Highs this weekend will only be in the single digits and teens for areas down to I80. Dangerous wind chills of -20 degrees or colder are increasingly likely, especially north of I90. The graphic below shows the temperatures on Sunday morning.
Another polar front will move through next week bringing even colder temperatures.
