Munising Area Trail Report – 02/05

TRAIL REPORT February 5, 2022

MAKING A RECOVERY!
About an inch or two of new snowfall with the trail system in overall good condition now. We are making a good recovery from down equipment but it will take a few more repetitive runs for a full recovery over the weekend. The Trail Programs Spare Bully was delivered by Pisten Bully to Seney today to get the Groomer and Blade. They then groomed Trail 8 bringing it back to us. It immediately started working on our trail system. Trenary Northern Trails will continue helping on the west end and Schoolcraft Motorized Trail Association will be helping with Trail 8 North of Shingleton.

Bay De Noc Snowmobile Club has also started helping with Trail 7 from the south up to the Buckhorn. With the help from our neighbors our full trail system will now be getting groomed again, just not as frequent so trails may get choppy between runs. We will keep everyone updated on further equipment status as things develop. Be sure to Thank our neighboring clubs for helping us keep your trails rideable. Get out and ride safe, stay right and enjoy the great riding conditions! Keep doing the Cold Weather Snow Dancing and Stay Tuned for updates!

Are trail gates closed on Trail 5 from Champion up to Big Bay and other trails around there or can we still sneak out? With this much snow, we can probably can’t see the gates! Lol.

Widespread 8-12 inches are forecast; higher amounts in excess of 2 feet are forecast across the higher terrain of Marquette and Baraga Counties into Thursday morning. Note: A sharp gradient in snow totals is expected just inland from the Great Lake-especially along the Lake Superior shoreline in Baraga and Marquette Counties.
