Munising Area Trail Report – 02/23

TRAIL REPORT February 23, 2022

LOTS OF NEW SNOW!

Trails are in an overall good condition with 6 to 8 inches of new snow overnight. Operators were reporting very good results but snow was not setting with a good amount of traffic all night. With that trails are listed as good because they are not expected to hold flat for very long today. Operators are doing what they can with the tools at hand as we anxiously await the return of our Big John Deere. Get out and enjoy the trails and Stay Tuned for updates!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – February 21 at 7:09 PM ·

Last night’s groom went really well, the fresh snow is helping the trail out greatly. This week now as you may already know, we could see a lot more snow, up to 18" on the trail. We will groom when it is safe to get out. So if you go out and its a bit rough, we are keeping our operators safe, and one of us will be out when it is safe again. There may be drifting on the trail with this next storm, so keep that in mind if you go out on the trail. Here are a couple of pics from last night’s groom. Ride right, and be safe out there.

FROM Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> I need to post this image again because WOW. I can't recall the last time nearly all of the United States was forecast to be below average.
Before anyone gets on the "SEE CLIMATE CHANGE IS FAKE" train... one of these below average maps DOES NOT negate the other 500 above average ones. Trends, folks. Trends. Nothing is a straight line. The warming temperature trend line is full of peaks and valleys with an overall increasing trend. 🙂 #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea #petoskey #gaylord #cadillac #traversecityI need to post this image again because WOW.
