Heart Lake Resort Cottages – Gaylord, MI – 12/26 All this snow has us ready for snowmobile season! <> Gaylord Bureau – December 24, 2022 – 1:10 p.m. The blizzard hit Gaylord full force! We’ve got around 2 feet of snow in many areas, with deeper drifts created by the wind. It’s still coming down and the wind is continuing today. There is currently one groomer out and they are doing their best to clear the trail. Keep in mind that drifting will continue to be an issue until the wind slows down. Trails are just starting to be cleared so be mindful of downed trees and branches at this time. Have a safe and happy holiday weekend! Lots of snow to plow. Cold and windy, havent seen any sleds but been pushing snow all morning. Now already 1:00 p.m. Drifts were up to the top of my doors at storage. Got stuck for an hour and had to get pulled out. Really I think it will be tough riding. The snow is kind of like sugar and its so deep that it will blow up on your shield. On the bright side I did see the grayling groomer go by yesterday. I would bet things will be looking pretty good come monday morning. I was planning on watching hallmark christmas movies on Christmas day but I have a feeling I will still be plowing. Merry Christmas to all……..Thanks for checking in. Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. Does anyone have any information that would explain why Antrim County was excluded from the the governor’s State of Emergency?
