Paradise Area Trail Report – 12/30
December 30, 2022 44 degrees this morning and cloudy…….yea……44……darnit! It looks like its gonna stay on the warm side until next Thursday……darnit again! Needles to say, we`ve lost a ton of snow yesterday and last night. You can`t do nutin bout the weather so I`ll quit whinning and tell ya`s whats been going on since my last report. Our run on Wednesday south of the river turned out just OK. We got all the trees cleared and was able to set most of the trail. The snow was so deep in a couple of places we could`nt get down in the ditches cause we were afraid of gettin stuck. It warmed up later in the afternoon to close to 40 so on the way back we were starting to bring up a lot of water. We won`t revisit this trail until after it cools down next week. The boys did make it thru siberia yesterday. Mike C. is gonna take a drag all the way to Pine Stump today. Mike H. is gonna take a drag around the Point trails today also. Sooooo……thats it. We just can`t get into the swamps on the Falls trail or South trail until the weather cools off. Please don`t go around the closed gates, they are closed for a reason!!!! The first polar front will sweep through the Midwest on Thanksgiving day bringing temperatures 10 to 15 degrees below average. Lows below zero are expected for some across the north and in the single digits down to I80. Highs this weekend will only be in the single digits and teens for areas down to I80. Dangerous wind chills of -20 degrees or colder are increasingly likely, especially north of I90. The graphic below shows the temperatures on Sunday morning.
Another polar front will move through next week bringing even colder temperatures.
