FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 02/05
Here we go again with a meltdown. So far this sunday morning there have been a decent amount of sleds out. Sled traffic for saturday was heaviest of the season with sleds everywhere. Sad part about that was a death out near Bear Lake, Helicpoter landed on M 72 to pick up patient but he didnt make it. There was also a fatal over by Lewiston on wednesday. Keep that in mind as you are out having fun. Many new faces stopped in yesterday along with familiar faces. This morning by 9:30 there were probably 25 sleds over at the swamp for breakfast. Julie puts out a great breakfast buffet on the weekends. Pics below are from the breakfast crowd over there this morning. I was over there too. Didnt get to the Frederic Inn last night and instead ended up at Big Buck. I have to say that was pretty darn good . I tackeled the 45 oz bone in rib eye. Also ran into 2 different Sledheads shirt wearing guys. Had a good time there. So we all better do some heavy duty snow chanting this coming week as its not looking to promising. Also if anyone lost a blue bag on the trail I have it here at the shop. Thanks for checking in. Pete
FROM Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> I need to post this image again because WOW. I can't recall the last time nearly all of the United States was forecast to be below average. Before anyone gets on the "SEE CLIMATE CHANGE IS FAKE" train... one of these below average maps DOES NOT negate the other 500 above average ones. Trends, folks. Trends. Nothing is a straight line. The warming temperature trend line is full of peaks and valleys with an overall increasing trend. 🙂 #miweather #keweenaw#westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#petoskey#gaylord#cadillac#traversecityI need to post this image again because WOW. After Thanksgiving, a large portion of the U.S. will likely see below normal temperatures into early December. And of course, there's southern Florida. 🌞
