Please be careful around curves. The weather has cooled down and there is some ice around the curves. We have had alot of snow north over the wekend and the trails are great. Come up and have some fun!!!

Trail #9 south to Hemlock Ridge road (trail 2) has a 0 -4 inch base and is in good condition.

Trail #9 north is in great condition. The base is 6-8 inches and riders are reporting very good conditions We have had more snow in this area and trails are great for riding.

Trail #45 North is in great shape with a 6-8 inch base, but, there are 2 logging areas on it. One north, and one south, of the Skyline Trail Head. It is plowed and can be rough at times. The trail from Co. Rd. 500 to the Falls is also in great shape with riders reporting fantastic riding in this area.

Trail #2 to Rexton is in fair condition with a 1 -3 inch base.

Trail #473 has about 7 miles of plowed road from Rexton south to Epoufette due to logging in the area. Please watch for trucks and deer in the area. The base is marginal to 3 inches and in fair condition.

Trail #473 Rexton to Trout lake is in poor condition and will not be groomed until we have more snow.

Town trails are open and in good condition with a 0-3 inch base.

*Please remember our groomers are out daily to keep the trails in the best shape they can be for your riding pleasure. Please keep a safe distance from the groomer if possible.*

Western U.P. Trail Report – Western U.P. Bureau – 02/01

Had some weekend snow… it was pretty fluffy so guessing the Season Snowfall to date is about 130" but will give official tomorrow. Cold temps have been good for firming things back up and it looks like this week will offer up some great riding.
Gogebic Range Trail Authority: After some mechanical problems, groomers are out both day and night getting the trails back into shape. All are being groomed including 2-8-160-11N and 11S. Overall conditions Good-some very good, some fair.
From the Lake Gogebic Area-Groomers are all out double grooming all trails.. trails good to very good.
Watersmeet groomers are out and reporting trails are solid and conditions are fair to good.
And here’s some good news for our Trail 2 East riders-the Marenisco Mini Mart is open and gas is again available there.
IN ALL AREAS:
Keep in mind the groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, and PLEASE pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them.
The time you spend riding in Big Snow Country is all about lots of fun and a great time…therefore, your safety is our #1 priority.

SIGN VANDALISM RESULTING IN SERIOUS SITUATION
Expect to see more patrols on the trails due to a recent rash of sign vandalism incidents…we’re hearing cameras also may be enlisted in order to apprehend those responsible. If you see any suspicious activity, please call the DNR at 800-292-7800.
