Michigan Snowmobile Trail Reports

December 01, 2025 – 2:05 am update: – MONDAY MORNING – Happy first day of the Michigan Snowmobile Season. Most groomed trails are officially open. However, some will still be closed due to local agreements and special hunting seasons. Do not go around any locked gates. Although trails are open, snowmobiling will be limited in many areas due to downed trees and other trail hazards. Check with local clubs for conditions. You may also want to volunteer and pitch in to help clubs get brush and other hazards cleared from the trails. There is a lot of snow in the Western U.P. and the Keweenaw Peninsula and in the snow belts of the Eastern U.P.

In Northern Lower Michigan the Gaylord area received as much as 22 inches of snow. Other areas of Northern Lower Michigan received less. More snow is expected through the weekend with moderate to heavy accumulations expected by Monday.
