Sault Ste. Marie Area Trail Report – 01/25

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 01/25

1/25/25
Good morning everyone!
I got a couple of reports from last night, the first from Brimley Bill-

“Tonight I groomed trail 480 from Raco to our Spile Dam Road turnaround, trail 8 on the Powerline and from Raco to Brimley. The photos show trail 480 on Waishkey River Truck Trail, trail 8 on the Powerline, and Trail 8 just west of Brimley.

I saw no sled traffic, so the trails will probably have all night to set up. There should be some happy riders in the morning.”

Also, Groomer Matt sent us these pics on his way to hit the Kinross east loop, 49 south of M80 and the 494 loop. He caught the other groomer coming in from his run on Kinross west to the Spile Dam turnaround on 480.

Looking awesome guys!

Hope you are able to get out and enjoy!
I’ll be headed to Kinross for some MIRA racing action! ❄️❄️❄️

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Through this evening: A line of heavy snow showers marches south across the UP along a cold front.
Hazards: A quick hitting 1-2” of snow is expected along this front. Gusty winds will create very low visibility in the heaviest showers. Roads will quickly become snow covered, and falling temperatures behind the front will also create slippery road conditions where melting snow occurred today. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsareaThrough this evening: A line of heavy snow showers marches south across the UP along a cold front.

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/26/25
Another busy weekend in the books! Pics from earlier as I was out riding all day (sorry, not sorry!😉) Things are really in awesome shape over our entire area and beyond! Race week started today and we’ll be ready for increased traffic all week.
I wanted to be sure to also highlight our surrounding clubs. They all do an excellent job! We all work together to try and create the best riding experience that we can so that you’ll keep coming back to support our local businesses! Today, I rode our trails, Chippewa Snowchasers trails, and Paradise Area Nightriders trails. The far EUP is such a wonderful place to ride, with so many great day trip destinations and less traffic than so many areas of the UP.
Here’s a little sampling from the weekend.
We’ll be rolling all week to keep things in the best shape we can! ❄️🏁❄️🏁 #soo #snowphotos
